Find answers about keeping your deals safe, working with the numbers, and using Cornerlot on your iPhone.
Do I need an account?
No. Cornerlot has no login or account to create. Your saved deals and calculations work on your device. Address search and Apple Maps imagery need an internet connection.
Where are my deals stored?
The initial App Store release stores deals on your device and does not automatically sync them between devices. Your Apple device backup settings may include the local app data.
Export a Cornerlot backup before changing devices or deleting the app. A Deal Memo PDF is a report; it cannot restore your saved deals.
How do I export a backup?
Open Settings → Backup and restore → Export backup, then choose a destination in Files.
The JSON backup includes all saved deals, including archived deals, addresses, property coordinates, assumptions, scenarios, favorites, notes, and default assumptions.
Backups are unencrypted JSON files and are not password-protected by Cornerlot. Keep them private. A destination you choose, such as iCloud Drive, handles its copy under that provider's privacy practices.
How do I restore a backup on another device?
Make the backup file available on that device. In Cornerlot, open Settings → Backup and restore → Choose backup to import. Select the file, review the number of deals to add, then tap Import.
Existing deals are skipped without replacing their saved values or notes. Restoring the default assumptions for new deals is optional. Invalid or unsupported files are rejected before existing data is changed.
Why are the numbers different from a listing?
Cornerlot calculates estimates from the assumptions you enter, including financing, rent, vacancy, expenses, and taxes. Review those assumptions against current records; a listing may use different values or omit costs.
Amounts are shown in US dollars. Address entry uses US addresses and five-digit ZIP codes. Area Lens uses bundled US HUD and Census datasets, with the source and period shown in the app. It is context for your research, not an appraisal or a prediction.
Cornerlot provides planning and educational estimates, not financial, tax, or legal advice. Check the numbers with a qualified professional before you buy.
Why is there no street-level photo?
Apple Maps Look Around coverage varies by place. Check the property's address and your connection. If the app shows a connection failure, use Retry. Where imagery is unavailable, Cornerlot keeps the credited painting.
The fictional sample intentionally uses a painting. Real saved properties may send their addresses or coordinates to Apple Maps when imagery loads. Cornerlot does not request your device's current location.
Does Area Lens change my assumptions?
No. Public rent benchmarks and area statistics help you compare your own research. They do not replace the rent or other assumptions entered for your deal. Missing data or unsupported coverage is shown in the app.
How do I delete or archive a deal?
Swipe left on a deal to find Archive and Delete. Archive keeps the deal; choose the Archived filter to find it again.
Deleting a deal or the app does not remove exported PDFs, backup files, or copies retained by Apple device backups. Manage those copies in their storage location.
